Equifax Data Breach
On September 7, 2017, Equifax, one of the three major credit bureaus, announced that the personal information of approximately 143 million consumers was stolen. This personal information includes names, social security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers and credit card numbers.
